Athough based in Wales, UK - with a name like O’Sullivan, I still have a “soft spot” for the Emerald Isle! But I think anyone who takes the stereo typical “soft spot” view of Ireland and of its people and economy is definitely looking through “sentimental, rose-tinted glasses”.

The investment by SageCRM.com in Ireland not only shows the Irish awareness of the importance of ICT (esp CRM) to its economy, it also demonstrates that the Irish Govt (http://www.entemp.ie/enterprise/stateaid/regional.htm) encourages ICT investment in a way, it could be argued, that is more positively aggressive and enticing for potential and new SMEs (covering most, if not all, of the bases required by new start ups) than most political regional development programmes based in the UK. Is it any wonder that the Irish are leading the way in ICT and CRM (saas)…vive la Celtic Tiger!!

1. Seth Godin video - pretty inspirational stuff - a great exponent of the AIDA principle - AIDA in action!

2. MSoft small business software - agree with Dan B, woo need to get a move on!…but also worth asking (after visiting the site) have they been following woosabi’s development ???!!! A few remarkably similar features…makes me feel very good about the Woosabi product…I realise that members of the Woo team are sometimes reluctant to SHOUT that it’s “Woosabi v Microsoft” but on this new evidence, I think we should really consider SHOUTING Woosabi is here!…and taking an even more innovative approach than M/S (eg MBE, prescriptive, invoicing + many more essential small business features) in its offering to new start up businesses …Woosabi v Microsoft…has a nice ring to it!

CRM, MBE + New Business Start Ups

Found this site which details the origins and definition of Management by Exception (MBE), very interestingly, relating to woosabi.com focus on SME and new startups, especially ‘Customer Relationship Managemnt’ (CRM) and MBE.

http://www.12manage.com/description_management_by_exception.html

The objective of MBE - ”to reduce quantity of detail in reports and stats on which action can be taken”

This is a core philosophy in Woosabi which could be interpreted as:

Woosabi + MBE = CRM to a new level!

CRM and MBE in relation to New Business Start Ups

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

As discussed yesterday (GF, DB, Eds + Moi) the mention of MBE in isolation will not achieve our objective - MBE needs to be “relative” to CRM and New Business Start Ups. I will amend my approach in view of this revelation.
